The Sensory Path of Mont'Arrubiu was inaugurated in 2011 at the Environmental Education Center (former barracks) and is located in the Campidano State Forest, in the Soleminis forest. The Sensory Path has been conceived as a tool to develop through the use of the five senses a new knowledge of the forest based on emotions and sensations that can arise from a visit to the forest. It is an innovative and interactive choice for the enhancement of the natural environment that uses a new approach, involving, fun and contextualized on the territory. Along the path there are five stages equipped with information panels, where the operators of the Ente Foreste will guide the visitor through practical experiments that they will stimulate the five senses one at a time. In less than 900 steps the path winds its mark of smell, sight, touch, taste and hearing, with valuable tips to learn how to recognize aromatic herbs, trees and different types of leaves, find out what animals eat and birdsong. The trail is particularly suitable and entertaining especially for children, who are involved by the operators with experiments, games and the compilation of a questionnaire.
